Hyde Park, London is famous for its roller skating. When people think of roller skating in London, they think of ‘Roller Skating Hyde Park. This is not without good reason. The pathways are long and scenic. There are multiple options for grabbing something to eat there, and loads of things you can do with children. Let’s take a look!
Roller skating Hyde Park – the Pathways
Hyde Park is a famous London site which should not be missed by tourists. Why not take it in on skates? There are long, smooth pathways going around the park and they lead to exits out of the park at different places in London. The Park is very large at 350 acres! It is 1.5 miles long and 1 mile wide. The nearest Tube Stations are Hyde Park Corne and Lancaster Gate.

The pathways are mostly flat so very good for beginner skaters and you will see some skating lessons taking place there either in groups or privately.
There are many great food and drink places near to Hyde Park – the choice is endless! You will find lots of options near to the entrances and exits.

The boat house is open from 10am and closes at 6pm from April to May and 8pm June to August. It closes at 7pm in September, and at dusk in October to March.
Boating hire costs from £5.25 as an off peak charge for a child and from £9.05 for an adult off peak. This would be for one hour’s boat hire. You can obtain cheaper charges for half an hour hires (from £3.35 and £6.90 for children and adults respectively).
Other activities at the park include tennis and padel including lessons for children and adults.
Places to eat at Hyde Park
- Serpentine Kitchen and Bar – this is a lovely restaurant by the lake. It has four star reviews. The types of food you can eat include pizzas, salads, flat breads and you can also eat breakfast there including dishes like french toast, sticky toffee banana bread, poached eggs etc. These items were on the menu as at 23rd March 2026. The prices range from £10 to £20 per head. Note this is a ‘Benugo’ restaurant so they also serve muscles, which this restaurant is famous for!
