In this article i’m going to share with you the best toddler roller skates options I found. I’m going to consider how adjustable they are, the practicalities of a toddler wearing them including safety, and whether they come with any protective gear.
First of all, what are we looking for in a pair of Toddler Roller Skates?
An ideal pair of toddler roller skates should be adjustable to accommodate the growing child. Some of them allow for the child to wear them over shoes. We would expect them to have a softer wheel for better grip. We would want them to be very strong and solid, and not too heavy.
An added bonus would be for a pair of toddler roller skates to come with safety gear like a helmet and knee and elbow pads.
Let’s take a look at some options!
Toddler Roller Skates – Option 1 – SFR Stomper boys/girls adjustable roller skates

What I like about this option is that they have good stability. The lower foot position (down into the wheel height) gives a lower centre of gravity for the child. This is great for someone who is just learning to roller skate.
They come with a break and removable liners for ease of cleaning!
The fittings are convenient for sizing adjustments. The boot can slide in and out of the skate mount, adjusting to the child’s size as they grow. You can adjust the skates to four different sizes!
These skates cost £44.95 / $60.75.
Toddler Roller Skates – Option 2 – Star Adjustable Roller Skates with light up wheels

I love that these skates provide great strong ankle support. They also have lower level breaks which can be great for new skaters. The size is adjustable so they will fit your child as they grow and they just look so comfortable! Almost like trainers. These look like a great option. They also come with light up wheels which any child would love! These skates are being sold by Sports Direct, so a well established, reliable company.
These skates cost £54.99 / $74.31.
Option 3 – California Pro Adjustable Skates
These skates provide excellent support with the hard outer shell and ankle buckle. They too have lower toe stops which are great for newer skaters. The skates are fully adjustable allowing your child to keep wearing them as they grow.
Option 4 – Unicorn Quad Skates

I found this amazing bundle for a girl skater. It comes with all the safety gear. The skates give good ankle support. This is a much more budget friendly set, at £16.99 for everything – you can’t really go wrong with that price. If a child is just trying skating, it may be a good option to see if they like it before spending more. These skates do not appear to be adjustable, however.
Option 5 – Generic Adjustable Quad Skates
I like that these skates come in a few different options for girls and boys. They look very comfortable and have great adjustable fastenings and sizes. These skates cost £29.69 so again, at the more affordable end of the market.
Skate trainer!!

Aside from the great skate options I found, I also noticed this amazing skate trainer – this has just got to take all the pain of of learning to skate for your child, surely? I can’t believe I have only just discovered this. You can get one of these skating frames for £61.10 / $82.57. It seems like you just wouldn’t go wrong with one of these… I’ve always wondered why the skating rinks don’t have those little penguin or seal supports which kids use at the ice skating rinks:

This seems like the perfect equivalent for roller skating!
Safety gear…
It is highly advisable to provide your child with safety gear. I found this amazing option which looks like it has everything you need:

This set costs £17.99.
So there you have it – some amazing toddler roller skate options for you!
