In this article i’m going to talk about the best adult roller skates USA. I’m going to talk about ankle support, whether they are park ready, the quality of the components, comfort and price. This article is geared more towards female skaters but I will prepare one which is more aligned with mens’ tastes. Watch this space…. For now, let’s just get straight into it…
What do you need from a pair of adult roller skates USA?
Roller skates for adults USA should be supportive around the ankles, easy to wear and well fitted and comfortable. An adjustable toe stop can be helpful for both experienced and beginner skaters so that they can find their way. Some beginner skaters like the toe stops to be lower down/closer to the ground for example, and some experienced skaters use none at all! Any extra accessories such as safety helmets and knee and elbow pads which come with the skates would be a bonus! We want to achieve a great balance between price and affordability, and quality.
Option 1 – Riedell – Moxi Lolly – Adult Roller Skates USA
These Moxi Lolly skates are infamous for skating outside! They have large gummy wheels (literally called ‘Gummy Wheels’ because they are super soft and big, so they roll far and softly over cracks in any pavement!). They are super comfy with soft suede leather and soft laces. They are quality skates with solid plates and are ready for any outdoor adventure without modification. These skates are on the more expensive side, at circa $300 per pair.

Option 2 – Moxi Beach Bunny skates
My first pair of skates when I got back into skating as an adult, were Periwinkle colored Moxi Beach Bunnies. I still absolutely love them. These skates are highly versatile – their wheels are on the softer side, but they are not too large making them flexible for different types of skating. These skates are more affordable – especially for newer skaters. Note they do take some more break in time because they are made from vegan friendly materials rather than soft leather – but you do get there with them.

These skates cost $178.80 which is very affordable for most skaters. They are very versatile being skate park ready but also a great outdoor skate too, in general.
Option 3 – Sure Grip Boardwalk Retro skates
These lovely retro skates are very popular amongst outdoor skaters in the States as they have lovely quality soft suede leather. They make another great option for a pair of outdoor roller skates USA. The wheels are 78A in hardness – perfect for outdoor pavements. The wheels come in a variety of sizes so the skater can choose wheels for cruising (I’m suggesting some of the larger ones at 65mm) or they could choose a more balanced sized wheel, at 57mm.

- Suede boots with stitched soles
- Sturdy Rock Nylon Plates
- Aesthetically beautiful with vintage feel
- Non slip laces
- Quality bearings – ABEC-3
- Boardwalk outdoor 65mm/78A wheels OR Boardwalk outdoor wheels 57mm 78A. They also do Aerobic outdoor wheels in 62mm/84A and Fame artistic indoor wheels in 57mm/95A.
These skates cost circa $200.
Option 4 – Adult roller skates USA – Chaya Melrose Deluxe
Chaya Melrose is one of my favourite skate brands. I absolutely love how comfortable these skates are – there is literally no break in time with them – they feel like sneakers and you might think you are skating on butter!
They also come in lovely colors and are affordable for most newer skaters at circa $110.
These skates feature:
- Adjustable colorful toe stops
- Textile composite boot
- Aluminum Plates
- Aesthetically beautiful with vintage feel
- Quality bearings – ABEC-7 – these are for more precise skating but can be sightly more noisy
- 62mm x 38mm x 78A
Option 5 – Riedell Outdoor Crew Quad Roller Skates – Adult Roller Skates USA
What best roller skates USA list, would be complete without the Riedell Outdoor Crew skates?
These skates feature:
- Adjustable toe stops
- Supportive High Top Crew Boots with Leather Uppers and Dri-Lex™ lining
- PowerDyne Thrust Nylon plates as standard
- Aesthetically beautiful with vintage feel

Option 6 – Moxi Jack (boots)
These skate boots are just like the Moxi Lolly, but they offer more ankle support for the avid skate park skater. Note the other components on the skates would need to be purchased separately – the Jack Boot is ordered on its own, custom made from new. Alternatively it can be purchased second hand as a set of skates.

These ones are lovely – they cost £414 – so a lot more in dollars!
